Our (tall) six year old son can easily shoot hoops. My husband said it is easy to put together. We have yet to fill it yet (have mulch bags on top of it to hold it in place) but it stays in place and is easy to move around our driveway when cars are going in and out.

This arrived quickly from Amazon and the directions were good. I'm a 41-year old mom and I put this together by myself. I needed our wheelbarrow to prop it up. It took me about 90 minutes. I tried to put sand in the base, but the hole is so small that it was taking forever so I finally filled it up with water (I'll remember to dump it in the winter before it freezes).

This is for my 5 year-old. He is autistic; he had a Little Tykes basket and would just make 10-20 baskets in a row, it was amazing, but it was already on the highest setting. So I upgraded him to this one. After it was up, he took 4 shots and they all missed; I was a little worried that it was too tall even at the lowest setting. But then he just stood there, starring at the backboard for the longest time - and then his fifth shot went in. Now he loves it!! And it will grow with him! I love that!

I highly recommend!

This is an inexpensive portable basketball hoop that is a great deal for the money. It could be better, but still worth the money. Not hard to put together / took about an hour. My son is 12 and he and his friends use it all the time. I would buy it again.

Amazon had the lowest price protable basketball system I could find. I am a happy Amazon shopper! Free shipping was an added bonus.

Good value and good entry level backboard system. The backboard is lightweight and plastic, so don't expect a high-school level or professional type system. Relatively easy to assemble. It is very helpful to have two sets of hands to complete the last step in assembly. (Two adults are not required as I completed the last step with the help of my second grader.) I am very pleased with this unit and the kids love it.

i recieved this portable basketball unit within a few days of ordering it. it was better then i expected. my nephew loved it. what a deal. it is strong enough for him and his friends and they are 10yrs old. grownups even played with them. its a great family basketball unit.

My kids are 6 and 9. They've spent many days now enjoying hoops with each other. Construction has been adequate for their use and I've been pleased. My only complaint is that the height adjustment is not as easy as I thought it might be. All in all, a good goal.

This is absolutely the best [...] I ever spent on exercise equipment. The package arrived in impeccable condition. It took myself about two hours to assemble the whole thing. It is a ONE person job (I did use a lawn chair to prop it up at the last steps). Pouring 300lb of sand into the tiny whole takes me another 90 minutes, but man, the post is solid as a rock. The bounce of the backboard is ok for a backyard game. You can't expect the NBA stuff for [...]. The frame and rim are very well made. All in all, very satisfied with the product.
One tip: I padded the post with a [...] pipe insulation foam from Lowes. Now I don't need to worry about my kids running into the post.

Ordered the baskeball system April 1st and within 2-3 days, it was at our residence! assembly takes a bit of time, but my 15 yr old and 17 yr old put it together without help.
Bought for my son's birthday and he, his friends and brothers use it everyday! Very good product!

I purchased this backboard for my 7 year old son and he loves it. The instructions for putting it together weren't that great but between my wife and I we managed to complete the task in about 1 hour. I payed under $100 for this from Amazon and saw the exact same model at Toys R Us for $179 so for the money and the quality of the product, it was an excellent value. Just take care when you fill it with sand or water because it becomes incredibly heavy and difficult to move. However, this is a good feature especially if you live in an area that gets windstorms like here in Buffalo. The only feature that I wish this backboard had is the ability to fold down because once this backboard is set up, it's not going anywhere unless you dismantle it.

I loved this basketball goal. My whole family loves the goal and I loved the price. The pole is extra sturdy and I was able to put it together myself all my husband had to do was tighten the screws and bolts when he came home from work. The directions were pretty easy except when it came to pictures showing the backboard. I was able to call the customer service line and was helped immediately. Great product and we will have lots of fun with it.

This is a very sturdy and well made basketball system. I did not find it very hard to put together. Raising the height is a little bit of work but not too bad. My grandchildren love it. Putting water in the base worked very well. Did not try sand. This purchase was worth the price.

We bought this hoop for our 9 yr old son, who plays basketball everyday (and evening)!
Although it took my husband about 45 min. to put it together, it is nice and sturdy. Highly recommend especially
since it's about $200 cheaper than ones you buy at a Sporting Goods store.

This product is well worth the money. It is very sturdy and well made. It is easy to put together (took about one half hour), and easy to adjust. I bought this for my four year old and it is a little bigger than I thought it would be, but he will grow into it :) Very smart purchase. Don't hesitate!!!

Ordered this from Wal-Mart; the assembly was hard (especially since I am not a do-it-yourself person) and probably took a total of more than 3 hours, with my wife helping in the last steps. It was a great satisfaction when it was all done (and our 7-year old boy loved it), but we realized that I had left out a piece of hardware (item PE) that goes between the back board and the pole. I didn't see this piece pictured at the top of the page containing the rim assembly step so I assumed it was not needed in that step. The picture of the assembly step itself does show this piece (in the exploded view) but unfortunately I overlooked it. Even without it the structure felt sturdy and strong so I didn't bother to dismantle and reassemble. I filled the base completely with water. Today we had high winds in the area (40-50 mph gusts)and the whole thing tipped over, but nothing broke! I lifted it back up and so far so good.

I put this together all by myself in about an hour...pretty easy....little tricky for the backboard and rim but can be done by yourself...Messed around with it for a little after and its alot of fun...pretty easy to adjust the height too. My six-year old and I play basketball with this often. It probably wouldn't hold up well with bigger, more aggressive playing, but has been great for us. Also, we first didn't fill it entirely with sand and it got knocked down in high wind (no damage, thank goodness!) but hasn't happened again since filling it more with sand.

of course it is much cheaper than others, but works just fine for a kid to keep busy outside. took some time to put together, but I did it myself without any problems. and for those who want to use water.. just add some rubbing alcohol, like a whole bottle, to help keep from freezing and also to stop mold/algae from growing.

I purchased the lifetime 1221 pro court basketball hoop it came when it was promised, the only problem I had was it was shipped with two of the same backets that hold the hoop up. I called the customer service department the same day and they shipped it out that day with a three day turn around. They gave me no problems. I recieved the part three days later and finished putting the hoop together. It was pretty easy me and my 67yr father put it together. My son which is 10 loves it. It is a good starter hoop
