Grandson loves it !!! - Jul 20, 2010
My grandson loves these big Tonkas.... just be careful if they like to run and push them... the blade got caught! He fell and flipped over the handles they went into his tummy... ouch! Then he was up and running again! He LOVES his trucks.
Great toy for Babies learning to walk.... - Apr 14, 2009
So, my 1 year old little boy had his first birthday party and got this toy among many other toys. He instantly fell in love with this truck. Another toy he got that day was an Elmo Live and he literally ran over it with this truck. He got the ball popper wihich he paid no attention to. He got a lawn mower that makes popping noises and he paid no attention to it either. If you can see in the picture of the truck the big red handle above the shovel...he stands and holds this handle and walks with the truck pushing it backwards. I guess he loves it so much because he is learning to walk and this gives him the mobility he wants. He gave my wife out following him around. Great toy! Don't pass it up because of the mindless bad reviews. I am only speaking for boys around the time they are learning to walk.
Great toy! - Dec 29, 2008
My boys have the entire set of these trucks & they love them. They use them indoors & outdoors & they have been extremely durable (my boys can be very destructive!). This truck is large, heavy (which is good when pushing dirt) and fun!
Good truck - Oct 21, 2008
This is made with the same quality as all of Tonka's trucks. The description is a bit misleading though. It is made out of plastic, more than metal and suitable to a younger child. We will be returning it (it was to be for our 5-yr.-old's xmas present)and finding him a bulldozer that is more age appropriate. But it would be fabulous for a three-year old!
MIGHTY - Jul 09, 2008
MY KID LOVES THIS LOADER HE WAS BUILDING SAND CASTLES, AND IT WAS FUN WATCHING HIM.
Great Birthday Gift! - Feb 23, 2008
This toy is one of three "Toughest Mighty Tonka Truck" collection...we rec'd the Crane as a gift and thought we would return the favor by giving this loader, which is also sturdy, big and fun to play with!
FUN FUN FUN - Jan 18, 2008
Santa Clause brought my two boys one of these each. My boys are ages 2 and 4. They already have the Tonka Toughest Mighty Dump truck and my 4 y/o asked Santa for the tractor to go with his dump truck. Three days after getting it, he left it in the drive way and I ran over it. It barely dented the metal scoop, hubby was able to straighten it out with a hammer. It didnt damage any of the plactic parts at all, apparently the metal scoop protected the rest of the tractor. My boys take these to the park and play in the sandbox. They love these tractors. The only change I would make would be to make the tires a bit tougher, I can forsee those wearing out before my boys do, LOL.
Loads of fun! - Jan 13, 2008
My 2 year old son and 4 year old daughter LOVE this toy, along with the Tonka Toughest Dump Truck. They race through the house carrying and pushing things all over the place. These toys are the perfect size and will be outside for even more fun when it warms up a bit. Too fun.

I bought this for my three year old. While the truck is very sturdy and well -made, it takes a bit of muscle power and coordination to work the scoop. A little kid needs both hands and a a little help.
Also, the loader wont stay up without being held, so when kids try to push the truck, the loader keeps stopping it.
I think this will be a great toy when the kids are older.
too big - Mar 30, 2007
This is a great, high quality loader but way too big. I should have paid more attention to the dimensions. It dwarfs the tonka dump truck.
Good basic truck - Dec 11, 2006
My son got this truck for his 3rd birthday. It doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles, but it's been indesctructible. It's gone down slides, been buried in sand and generally been abused. Because it doesn't have a lot of fancy features it still works and is one of my sons favorite toys. Warning: may require imagination.
More like mighty wimpy loader and misleading - Nov 14, 2005
On the shelf or on line, this trucks shovel appears to lock into position above the rig but it doesnt. It took me nearly 10 minutes to remove strapping anchored to this truck within the packaging. My son spent a minute playing with this truck only to move on to his other toys. Yeah, the shovel portion drags on the floor and will NOT lock into position above the rig. This truck can hardly be moved through the carpet much less in sand. I grew up with Tonka trucks and this was obviously designed by some young suit that was babysat by the television and playstation. If your looking for a durable fun truck for your child, move on as this truck wont get the smile your looking for.
