more than just pleased - Sep 05, 2010
At first I was hesitant to buy this tube but the plastic is durable and the tube is very comfortable for adults. I am more than just pleased!
Best tube, hands down! - Sep 02, 2010
After borrowing a friends' tubes (these exact ones) over and over, we finally bought our own just like them. Our river isn't white water rafting by any means, but these tubes are tough enough to skim over rocks in shallow waters and more comfortable than any we've tried. The backrest is perfect, cup holders fit a can with a thinner-type coozie on it, and the mesh bottom makes it perfect to kick off your shoes and not loose them! The center hole is big enough for me to sit upright with my legs folded in front of me (I'm 5'7", 205lbs). Great tube, great value, great times!
River Tubing :) - Sep 01, 2010
This thing held up to over 2 hours of floating down the James River in Richmond, VA, and also served as somewhere for our friend to sit while the Fire and EMS teams treated her lacerated ankle after jumping off of an old train tressel type thing and hitting her foot on a rock. It was dragged across rocks, and abused heavily, and has no leaks.
Great for tubing rivers! - Aug 23, 2010
We are big people (300+lbs) and these are comfy, durable, and worked great on the river. Tube held up even through shallows, over rocks, etc. Handles are really helpful for staying on the tube through rapid water, and the rope around the outside was great for tethering two tubes together. Recommended.
Great for River Floats! - Aug 19, 2010
Not really a toy. Box says it is intended for adults. We used these on the river and had adults in these and hadSlime 5001-A Raw Auto Inner Tube - 700/750 R15/16 raw inner tubes for the kids. Both worked great, but the headrest and cup holders really came in handy. I've been on commercial floats and these are as good as the commercial ones. we bounced off river debris without a scratch. My only complaint is that I didn't have an adapter on my car pump to fit this and had to blow it up myself. It has bigger openings like one would use to inflate air mattresses. Would definitely buy again though.
Great product - Aug 19, 2010
This product is a little spendy, but you're paying for quality. The tube is the perfect size and comes with 2 cupholders built right in. I was very impressed.
Tough and Fun - Aug 17, 2010
I got two of these for the surf in Galveston. They are easy to fill and hold the air well from week to week. The wave action knocks them around and they have stood up well. I weigh 275 and am well supported. Plus, these floaties look good; the white skin keeps them cool in the midday sun.
First Time Tubing, Best Tube! - Aug 04, 2010
Purchased two River Run tubes from amazon at $24each in early July. I had never been tubing before and the river was a little low in spots, fast in others. We were on the Delaware in PA to NJ (what amounted to a 7 hour float!)with a few rapids, lots of rocks, trees and branches. These tubes were the best - the head rest was perfect and was good to lean against while paddling backwards (or to add a little extra flotation to help keep your butt off the bottom of the river where it was low), the white color kept them from getting hot, the handles are well placed. Loved the mesh in the bottom! I did not know any better that you could re-enter a tube from the bottom up, so flopping into this seemed right and my butt did not go down thru the hole. I also did not lose my sunglasses or waterproof camera. The tow cords came in handy over the fast spots when I did not want to get separated from my husband. And we are not small people - each of us is 220 and 5'8"/5'10" What a durable tube! It bumped and slid over rocks and bounced off some tree limbs with no issues. We got lots of compliments on them from tubers who were obvious pros. The only problem with one was a valve that leaked air out before you could close it, but we filled it as much as we could and it stayed inflated the whole time.
I would definitely purchase a few more to have on hand for when guests come and want to ride the river. Would want to also get a pump that plugs into the car or truck, because at 48" these things are big when inflated!!
Intex River Run - Aug 02, 2010
I had bought two of these tubes and enjoyed them with my wife . The only problem was that one of them had a slow leak and I had to blow it up every so often . Other then that , they are a good size and easy to control .
pool/river/lake float - Aug 02, 2010
I've always envied my husbands float but it had one small flaw - no head rest. I ordered the Intex River Run and used it for the first time yesterday. I ordered it based upon the reviews of other readers. I ifnlated it, tied it to our boat and hopped in. It was so comfortable I nearly fell asleep. Some other boaters who were passing by quipped that I looked "way too stressed". They only said that because they were envious. I bet in a few weeks they have one of these things too. I don't know why it is classified as a toy. It might better be classed as a water bed.
Good tube! - Aug 02, 2010
Bought it for a river trip. It's pretty light for carrying. The only problem we had with it was it was hard to get the valve sealed properly. Once we figured out why it kept deflating it did great. I wouldn't recommend actually having a drink in the cup holder going through the rapids as it isn't a tight grip on most bottles or cans, but other than that this thing was awesome!
Excellent River Tube - Jul 28, 2010
I've used this tube for about 10 floats on the Clackamas and Sandy Rivers in Oregon. It has held up really well, and has certainly taken some hits and been dragged across rocks in shallow water. The dual beverage holders are a big plus, and the included rope is actually pretty useful. I love the mesh bottom, but it can be a little cold for early season floats. I like how the back rest is optional, as it is inflated separately.
Overall an amazing value. Comfortable. Reliable. Cheap.
Great starter tube!
great river tube - Jul 24, 2010
I love river tubing but I have had a hard time finding inner tubes that are comfortable and can with stand all the tree branches in the the river. I bought these tubes and just tried them out on my latest river adventure. To my surprise they held up, not even one single hole in them, even with bouncing off of multiple sharp trees and rocks. I would definitely buy these again if I will ever need to, though it appears that they will last a long time. I recommend this tube to anyone who needs a dependable float.
tube - Jul 23, 2010
this is not only great for kids and adults alike but it fits our baby perfectly with the netting below. We can set her in there and she just gets wet enough to love it!
great pool float! great price too! - Jul 22, 2010
this is a great pool float a lot bigger than I thought it would be,it seems to very well constructed and the price was great too.I don't think I would use it for a river trip though .I would get a rubber one.
THIS is the tube you want! - Jul 17, 2010
tough materials, sturdy mesh bottom, grab handles, roped, cup holders. perfect for all sizes, from 36 pounds (my grandson) to 250 pounds (my husband). comfortable and fun for all. just ordered the intex 2 seater tube with the cooler in the middle, can't wait for the next trip!
The Envy of All Tubers - Jul 06, 2010
I purchased this tube for a 4th of July tubing trip down the James River in Richmond, Virginia. All my fellow floaters were using the River Rat and River Pirate models and they all envied my tube. The larger diameter, the headrest, the mesh bottom, the white color, all these features made my trip a better experience. We went over tons of rough rock and low rapids and this tube lived to tell the tale. I can't recommend it enough. Spend a couple extra bucks for a quality experience.
intex River Run - Jul 02, 2010
If you plan on floating downstream on a calm river not with mega white water, this is the ideal float, strong, and comfortable. If you're considering buying one, but it you won't be sorry.
The Best Device for Tubing I've Run Across - Jun 23, 2010
Living in Michigan, tubing is a regular summer sport and I've done my share of it. These tubes are, by far, the best I've used.
Not only are they reasonably-priced (especially compared to the expensive floats used for boating), they're well-made and durable. They inflate and deflate quickly, and they're loaded with great features that make them very comfortable and practical (like the back rest, dual cupholders, hand holds, and the rope that rings the tube - making it easy to tie a cooler or other tubes to yours.
If you've been using a regular black inner tube - ditch it and get one of these; there's no painful valve stem to poke you, and the white color ensures that they don't get hot in the sun.
Durable and Fun! - Jun 15, 2010
I recently purchased 5 of these for a family river trip. Granted we were all first timers and chose a river with level 2 rapids (some areas may have been a 2.75) but we met with all the hazards...rocks, tree trunks, branches, etc. We were very please with the durability. They were easy to get in and out of and super easy to see one another. Other people had the black tire tubes that didn't have any handles or back rests. Navigation was a combined effort of paddling with our hands and current leaving us in circles and riding backwards in some areas. People in the inflatable kayaks seemed to stay facing forward, but heck, we had more fun! Our river trip lasted nearly 2 hours and each of the tubes were still full of air and ready to go again!
Shipping too long - Jun 14, 2010
I am extremely happy with the tubes. I am not very impressed on how long it took to deliver them to me. If you are planning a tubbing trip. Order these a month in advance to make sure you have them for the trip.
Extremely Sturdy - May 06, 2010
I purchased 3 of these last summer and had nothing but PURE FUN using them. We used these weekly floating the river and never had any problems with them. There was even a time when my friend's lab climbed on top of her while on the tube. I feared it would blow, but it didn't! Still has another season or two of play left in them!
Floatin Down the River - Jan 26, 2010
Bought the tubes to float in our local river during hot days in August. Durable tubes, nice hancles and they even have cupholders. Designed well and more comfortable than tire tubes which cost about the same these days. Highly recommend for river floating.
Perfect River Float - Sep 14, 2009
My wife and I have had a great time this summer with our own floats versus renting a tube to float down the river.
A comfortable floating chair - Sep 02, 2009
I'm 6'3" and 230 lb and this tube was perfectly comfortable. The headrest is the best feature, followed by the can holders. Overall, a great purchase that I look forward to using again and again.
